Willett regained control of the game by striking a spectacular second shot on hole 14, which curved some fifty yards around a tree that was immediately in front of him. This allowed him to set up a birdie, which gave him an advantage of one stroke, which he carried over to hole 18.
Since his thrilling triumph at the 2016 Masters Tournament, the Englishman has not had any success on the PGA Tour.
Willett was the one who took the spotlight away from Jordan Spieth in that competition, even though Spieth appeared to have the major championship in the bag.
Willett was left in a state of disbelief as Homa won the championship this time. Homa, on the other hand, was victorious.
